Off-grid capacity boost!
One of the perennial problems living in a motorhome or campervan is power - and how to get it!
At home we tend to take it for granted that we have electricity at the flick of a switch and it’s always there. Living on the move is completely different and you quickly learn not to take it for granted. With a couple of small battery packs that will fit into your pocket we have had enough to keep our phones charged for 3 - 4 days before the packs themselves need charging and we always try to make sure we charge devices on the 12v dashboard outlets when we are driving.
One of the reasons for stopping at a campsite every 3rd or 4th night was to plug into the mains grid and get things charged up. This tactic has served us well for a while (and let’s face it campsites have other facilities which are very handy too!) but it has never felt like it’s quite enough for an extended stay ‘off-grid’ once we leave the site.
So, to help solve the problem we have made good use of a ‘Black Friday’ deal and splashed out on an EcoFlow Delta 2 portable power station which will boost our off-grid capabilities no end. After reading many reviews of different units this one came out tops and with 300 quid off it was just too tempting. It charges to 80% within an hour and has multiple outlets including the usual 3-pin sockets, USB-2 and USB-C
We can’t wait to get out in the wilds and make good use of it!
